I want your stories…

April 18, 2007 at 7:02 pm (Uncategorized)

I want to hear any and all stories that relate to PK’s. The good, the funny, the bad, the ugly, the amazing! I want to not bash people or situations, but to celebrate the blessings and honor while also learning and growing from the bad. If you don’t want to leave your story as a comment you can always email it to me. dramaqweenpk@gmail.com

I may or may not use these in my book… if I did, obviously with your permission and also some name changes.

 Thank you!!

Oh Sunday Mornings…

April 16, 2007 at 3:43 am (Uncategorized)

This morning while getting ready for church I decided to jam to my Itunes whilte getting ready. Which at times can be hard because the bathroom has a fan that blocks out any outside noise…. good for my roomate and I when the other is sleeping. Bad, for when we want to crank it up and get ready. So I cranked it anyway and opened the window. I hope my eclectic neighbors didn’t mind, but knwoing some of them they could have used “I will call upon the Lord!” Thank goodness the girl down stairs wasn’t home because I was definately having myself a time of worship in my apartment! That song has special meaning to me and my father. We used to listen to that song over and over again on our way home from church on Sundays. I would have to sit on my shoes because the leather seats were so hot! :) It was a great start to the morning.

On my way to church I usually put my makeup on… yes, I am that girl from the allstate commercial that is the driving makeup artist. Don’t lecture me I know its bad. ;) At a stop light while fixing my mascara the car behind me honked because I didn’t go within 2 seconds of the light turning green. Somewhat bitter and embarrassed I mad a mental note of the car and kept going, being a little more incognito about my beauty habits. I laughed when the car who so lovingly HONKED at me pulled in to church right behind me. I, with my sassy self made a mental note to remember who they were and to stay far away. Well, we ended up going into church at the same time I made sure to confidantly walk to the front row to sit where I always do. We then met again in the ladies room afterwards… awkward. Nothing more then an exchange of glances, but what are the odds?  My church is huge and I had never seen them before!

Note to self… drive like an angel on my way to church, just in case.

How this all started…

April 15, 2007 at 2:13 am (Uncategorized)

Three years ago my best friend and I were laughing about how much we got away with at church because we were pastors kids. At the same time we were annoyed that we were judged harder then the other kids at our church. Colleen and I joked that we should write a book about being a pastors kid. Since that conversation 3 years ago, God has laid it heavily on my heart to do just that. I am currently working on the book that will most likely be finished early next year. I want to meet more pastors kids and get as much feedback as possible. The book will not be geared for PK’s only, but for all readers. I want to hear impressions of PK’s, stories, and just general opinions! Share on!

I’m excited to get this blog rolling! I pray that God will be glorified and that we can all find something to take away!
